For Sale: Spring Stainless Spaulders
In what I believe is the final piece of the Dietrich Moving Sale, I have not for your buying pleasure a pair of rock-solid spring stainless spaulders that weigh little more than a pie plate, but will protect you from most anything short of a nuclear payload. I had the right spaulder shortened a lame...

FS: Custom top-shelf blackened stainless Norse spangenhelm
While my Queen and I may be doing a Norse reign, I find myself fighting almost exclusively in my bascinet, and let me tell you, this incredible blackened stainless Norse spangen helm with brass ocular and plaques is WAAY too worthy of epic deeds, to be sitting on my mantle. So, I am pleased to put i...

AA Review: Custom legs, greaves, vambraces
This is an overdue joint review of Andrey Galevskiy and Forge of Svan. Andrey made the awesome spring steel churburg legs, with etched brass lining. Svan made the titanium vambraces and greaves. https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpf1/v/t1.0-9/12191548_10208288734675264_1991498978805485510...

Re: AA Review: Accdntprone, custom Norse ocular helm
Thanks all. I'm thinking my Norse kit may be what I fight in during the hotter months, with my 14th century kit for fall/winter or steel fighting. I'll try to get a side picture when I have a chance. Dietrich, I think you are a lucky man to have a helm that nice looking! Knowing John some what, I be...

AA Review: Accdntprone, custom Norse ocular helm
So I recently decided it was time to go a-Viking, and make a Norse kit. Of course the most important part of a Norse kit is a suitably-pimpin' helm, right? I retained the Archive's own Accdntprone to make me a blackened stainless ocular helm with a master knuut aventail, brass falcon ocular, and fou...

Re: thoughts on Age of Craft Visby Gauntlets?
Sir Dietrich von Strom (sp?) (Atlantia and here on the Archive) got a pair of each. Yes indeed, these gauntlets rock. I've used them for spear, greatsword, polearm, and instead of a bitch mitten (hockey glove) on my shield hand. Here is my review with more details: http://forums.armourarchive.org/p...

Re: Positive Review: Brigandine gauntlets from Age of Craft
Yep, I like to give credit where credit is due. For those considering a purchase, I recommend the brig mitten gauntlets if you find yourself blocking with your hands more--they are more protective at the fingertips, and thus more forgiving of mistakes like hand-blocking. The brig finger gauntlets ar...

The two-handed sword is my personal favorite, for its elegant brutality. Properly balanced and wielded, the greatsword/longsword conducts a beautiful symphony of pained yowls from the opponents

Positive Review: Brigandine gauntlets from Age of Craft!
Now, on a more pleasant note, I recently commissioned Roman Bulgakov at Age of Crafts to make a pair of custom brigandine mitten gauntlets for my good friend, Duke Bryan of Sacred Stone. And while he was at it, to make me a pair of the brigandine finger gauntlets, because they look awesome and will ...

FS: Merc Tailor Shaped Greaves

It is unfortunate. I have been incredibly lucky, though, to do business with some seriously amazing folks from the Ukraine: Andrey Galevskiy, Tengushin, Forge of Svan, and Roman at Age of Craft have all done top-notch work for me, at very reasonable prices, with great customer service. Nissan, I enjoyed our fights a lot, my friend. The grand finale of your spin attack and my rising snap was a cool way to end!
I had a lot of great pickups this war, and did some every day. It seemed to me that there were fewer people out doing pickups, compared to previous years.

Hmm while that hinge would not work...one of my squires does metal fabrication, I'll ask him how difficult it would be for him to make a hinge that would be compatible.
In the meantime, if anyone else wants to buy that grill, please go ahead and sell it to them.
Cheers!

Cool. Assuming we figure out it is compatible with my helm, I'm interested. If you don't mind splitting them up, it sounds like Gregoire wants one and I want the other!MJBlazek wrote:I'll have to snap a pic of the latch. It's just one large square that fits over a block on the helm.

I'm interested in the grill visor. Does it have two holes on the hinge for attaching to the helm? And if so, what is the distance between the holes?
I'd like to make sure this would be compatible with my helm.
Thanks!
