copper on titanium is fine so is brass or stainless.
but copper with alum is a disaster.
that's why I was wondering how alum rivets would workout with an alum cop.

copper coated steel eventually failed on my buffalo hide stainless scale and the scales started falling out after 10 years or so.

its defnitely worth $200 folks.
16ga is kind of thick for serious shaping but its possible with the right techniques.
it will make great splints that will be light and very durable if they arent cut too thin/narrow.

working large plates of 301 full hard is tough that working titanium. even with superior tooling it twists back and forth and you cant use heat to straighten it outm lots of hammer tweaking and "trying to put an anti-clastic curve is a nightmare". made ...

I use .020 for lightweight grieves.
too expensive for me.
easy to cut grind and hammer.
very light gauge very useful for scales and the like.
very lightweight.
not useful for splints.
