Yes;

And actually the concern is more with your brain rapidly accelerating and then just as rapidly de-accelarating when it slaps against the other side of your skull.

It might, but who brews enough tea to soak a great helm or a set of full legs in?

I think the article had s slightly smaller scale of items (clock springs, hands,gear movements...)in mind when it was written.

Why? -Historical Accuracy -It looks good -It feels good to wear -It's a blast to make armour and then see how it moves/protects in combat -Although nobody seems to mind bruises, we don't actively seek them out -We want to help promote the flavour of medieval combat for our opponents benefit. Thanks for the inputs guys. This idea seems about the best way to go about to me: "You can have the cuff extend a bit longer than you need (about 1/2" or so). Flare that extra material out to the angle you want the metacarpal plate to be.." I think it would be smoother/stronger than the tabs I had o...

14th c. hourglass gaunts possible without welding?

Anybody ever made a decent pair without welding the metacarpal plate to the cuff? Every single pattern I've seen involved welding. Well, my welder sucks and my welding skill sucks, so that option is out. I guess I'll put tabs on the meetacarpal plate and rivet it to the cuff and then hide it with so...

I still have my sling. Me and a bud used to get slightly lit up and spend a couple of hours a night heaving rocks at targets when I lived in Iceland. They are quite effective with some practice. I alwways anneal rivits when the are in an awkward position where I can't get a full swing on a hammer. I also have a tool that's about 8" long and 1.5" around that I use to set rivits in odd positions. Basically use it as a pile driver to upset rivits that are in tight positions.

Something new to line your armour with

Just thought I would pass on some new stuff I just found that works well for painting the inside of your armour with. I have never seen the smaller plates hinged at each side and meeting at the middle.
