Banded armor
Anyone ever do armor of bands or banded armor? -

It looks as easy as lamellar. All you need is the plates, something to punch the holes, and then lace them together(throw in some leather as well).
Looks awesome.

The photo from that site looks familiar... Like out of an old Museum Reps catalog. That would kinda concern me the price scares me.... that is WAY too low. and yeah, that's a picture from a Museum Replicas catalog. Agreed, but looking at the shipping, the price kinda balances out. The copied pictur...

There's a fella with a slightly rusty one for sale here on the A.A. 10 minutes with some WD40 would probably clean it up. It's riveted 16 gauge flat wire, I think. You mean this one? - m It's a shame I missed it. Looks like it's been snapped up, and there's a another guy willing to buy it if the fi...

I have a little extra $$$ at my disposal to buy a reasonably priced chainmail hauberk. I'm looking for riveted or welded, mild, zinc coated, or stainless(I don't think I'd like alum).
My chest is 42 inches.

Greetings,
I'm looking for an affordable bevor. Mild is fine, 16 gauge or heavier. I don't know if anyone makes kits, but I might be interested in the un-assembled pieces.
Gracias.

Re: 3 Steel Gorgets on Ebay
I'm selling 3 18 gauge steel gorgets on Ebay. the link is below. I'm a huge LOTR fan. I love the armor and weapons especially the norse influenced armor and weapons for the Rohan. Been toying around wit the idea for a rig of that kind of armor, purely for costume or larp. Can't seem to find any good pics of the the Rohan armor, but I'll keep looking. Pat Marshal...

You can also use this stuff to remove rust - http://www.evapo-rust.com/
I've tried it, works well... There's also stuff called naval jelly, but it is a heavy chemical you don't want getting on your skin.

I think its sold already. It was a good price for both, as long as they were rivited. I am not sure the would hold up to SCA standards, but maybe. just my opinion. Thanks. The seller was offering more than one. I prefer steel, never had aluminum so I'm curious. I wonder if the white powdering effec...
