Review of new crossbow

Fist, while I do have a digital camera, I have no idea how to post a pic. If I figure it out I gladly will. Now to business: My new crossbow came in the mail today. It is from Meric Archery in Rochester NY.m Some of his work can be seen here. I have to say that I found Eric very helpfull and accomod...

Actualy Hush, My housedog Tessa would be a great sitter in so far as no one or nothing would come near her without me there. She is very protective of the baby! And if I get time this summer, I do plan on building a cart/wagon for Poison or Tessa to pull Rhiana in. Problem is I can`t bring them anyw...

Hush, don`t worry about the quality of sitters we choose. I`m quite neurotic about whos watching Rhiana (our daughter) and Alicia (my wife) is only slightly less so!

Thanks Hush, I have checked the website but it is very sparse yet. Not a lot of help yet.
If I figure about how many diapers she goes through in a week and bring double that, you think that`ll be enough? Also what about stollers, playpens, toys, Elmo dolls, other modern baby essentials?
Thanks!

I`d figure a lefty-lefty fight would be much the same as the more common righty-righty fights. I reckon you could watch right handed folks fight and go from there.
I could be wrong though, I`m just guessing. Doubt this helps much.

Some Pennsic questions, advice sought

So heres the deal. I havn`t been to war in over a decade, and last time I was there, it was very much a live hand to mouth situation on my own. Also the last time I was there, there were the three main battles on the last weekend, with other things happening through the last week. I made it for the ...

Looks to me from the site that it is bolted on perpendicular to the tang which is epoxied in. Ought to be quite secure.
Very nice work. I like it a lot.

My old household does those to determine house champion. I still remember my first one. Combat archery came to the East after I got out of the SCA some time ago, and I havn`t had the opprotunity to see it in action since I`ve been back. That being said, and admiting that my opinion is based on a lack of firsthand experience, I have no problem with it and was all for it when I was last ...

We are supposed to be wearing open face helmets. If a pokie is deflected into my face with killing force had it been a straight shot, it is still good. I don`t care what it might have done with real weapons ect., good is good.

I don`t know a whole lot about the subject, but heres what I do know; The dog hunting is generaly done down south against razorbacks. I believe two to five dogs are generaly used. Different bloodlines throw different traits, including levels of inherent dog aggresion. You want a less hot line for wo...

"I don't think your pit bulls will be good for this; they don't have the speed I think you'd need. Alaunts were used in period, and they were a fast, powerful breed." Pit bulls are used fairly often for boar hunting and have proven to be more than up to the task. They are in fact one of the more hig...

Ulrich, thanks! I`ve been pricing out wall tents too. I hope to get one in time for war and the link you gave does have the best price to quality ratio I have seen! I have a lot of stuff to get for war, so I may have to settle with a mundane tent, but at the prices these guys sell I may not. Thanks!...

In light of Richards post, I think I see where some of my confusion may be coming from at least in regards to calibration. As I now understand it, what some people propose is raising the SCA wide bar to the level of calibration of some of the more "rugged" East kingdom fighters. Not the high end fig...

Sir Rhys, In response, "This isn't about making things the way *I* want them to be, it's about making them the way they*should* be. " Should be is very subjective. Your idea and mine might not click. Irish, you have a very good point there. Having fought leftys I can attest that it doesn`t work against people with the opposite handedness. Trying it against someone with the same handedness can turn into an ugly grappling situation.
