okay, so it seems i am giong to be making my first brass decorations for my helm and have only the vaguest idea of what to do.

well after throwing a few lines in the watter,
it seems i may be on my own on this.

yes the thumbs are great.
having been hit there multiple times. they are like tiny tanks for the thumbs.

please note the slight patina of rust.

for some reason (and i dont remember this happening) both thumbs are missing the small middle plate.
but there they are.

the articulation is still pretty good.
