I just received my order of trim and I just want to start off by saying that I am extremely happy with everything! After a brief back and forth about patterns and designs, she was off! Let's put it this way about Baron Eirik, no disrespect to His Grace Ice Falcon, going with my experience... I just got in my order of rattan from His Excellency. My order was 4 sticks of shaved 1 1/2", 2 sticks of 2", and 1 of 2 1/2". I received the 1 1/2" just fine, but all else...

Do you have heater hose or some kind of trim around the edge of that aluminum shield? That likely adds a surprising amount of weight. The rawhide will definitely do the same for the wooden shields. That said, ya just can't beat a good birch shield, covered in canvas and edged in rawhide. Love 'em. ...

After this weekend, which is our Crown List, I'm going to take the time it takes to get them all dressed out with canvas and rawhide. I had the holes for the bosses cut out within the first hour our receiving them! Surprisingly, they're lighter than my aluminum shield I use now...

Just so you know. My tests on the shirt show that the kidney protection offered by the shirt is equal to or better than SCA minimum protection. I will be making an equivalency decision after Zoomband sends me some statistical data. I sent them leather and paddingthat slightly exceeds the SCA offici...
