you can get a GDFB cloak (1/2 circle) and cut the silly hood off. I'm probably gonna have my GF cut the hood off and restitch the opening on mine soon.

One of the Knights I train with uses one, I've been hit with it regularly and have no objections to their use. In my experience there is no noticeable difference in the felt blow between a good ratan stick and a plastic stick.

Mine's set up with a traditional helmet liner with the top cut off and replaced with skydex pads, so even sitting on a table or something you don't see the modern pads unless you pick it up and look inside.

Skydex is one of the brand names (one of the better ones) the stuffs not cheep but Its well worth it. I block with my head a lot and I prefer it over the standard blue foam, neoprene, historically accurate padding, and any of the other things I've tried. One of the great features is they stick to ha...

Hey guys I am kinda new to all this but wouldn't the padding in the helm be part of the issue? I know that lighter gauge will dent more but does every one use suspension style liners or just foam and chin strap. I would seem to me that if you used a suspension rig that your head would not get jarre...

it shouldn't be too difficult, I made stuff like that on a smaller scale (twisted silver & copper rings) in the past. Just solder the wires together, twist, then bend to the shape you want and polish pretty much.

If you post a list of any stock on hand (if any stock exists, if not I'll just wait till you get reestablished), I'd be interested in potentially taking some of the later 14th C coins off your hands so you don't have to move em.

But seriously... 1) In non res battles, a fighter killed by CA may res. 2) in res battles, limited ammo. I think that would go a long way to balance the weapon system. I'm not trying to start another pro-con CA thread. Thoughts on the above? imo t...

Lower noble, successful enough to afford an up to date harness, but not overly wealthy. I'm in the process of trying to bring up my off field presentation to the point where it would fit with the armor I have on order.

Proper beer holding device for the 14th C?

What would be the most period appropriate mug/tankard/other beer holding device for the late 14th century, I need to get something to put my beer in and would prefer it to be better suited to a 14th c persona than a pirate.
