That is were I'm a bit different... by personal conventions, you tap my face with a thrust, I'm out of the tourney/melee. Had a bad incident in the past. I even take alot lighter shots < not thrust > to the face then I do for the rest of the body. Just the game I play, most kingdom standards I've se...

unfortunatly it isn't a touch tag game we play. 2 most enjoyable tourney's I fought in were Battle of 30 < not a touch tag game > and the Tuchux tourney < again, not a touch tag game >. I think going to a face thrust calibration all over the body would dramaticaly decrease the "fun value" of our spo...

All I know is I got Gorilla F**ked. I took my chances with my single sword < walk on fighter who shoulda been more prepared as was totally expected to be turned away >. Sir Johanna's of Windrose can attest to my mugging. I can attest that not one of the 12 blows I recieved to my head and shoulders w...

I was in Pit #2 in the Tuchux tourney. Mixed feelings; it was exciting, but brought out something in me that doesn't belong on an SCA field. A gentleman from New York put me on my back with a basic martial arts move; I was filled with actual rage, and a desire to do harm. Not something that I want ...

Getting looted to the Swedish Landskeckt Girls by the Queen of Glenn Abahn. Cheers Sixtus Ok. Let me here your version before I ask Her Majesty for her version... I am quite sure her version would be more accurate then mine, as I am still piecing that night together. It all ended with me being back...

Pennsic Calibration
With only 1 or 2 notible exceptions, calibration seems rather low to me. I caught myself taking shots in the mixes that I would probibly never have taken in a tourney. I know this may sound like a dis-service to my opponites <sp?> , but even others were taking shots from me that would have never flo...

I like the idea of resurrections, because it gives people a chance to play more. But unlimited resurrections just drag things out too long. Witness the town battle. You're telling me, I was at the second gate from the right the entire battle < fighting with Outlands and Drachenwald < a few other gr...

Sixtus, could you describe your armour? I was in your pit as well - brown samurai kit with a white hooded helm. I had a great time fighting y'all, and if anyone has a link to pics from the tourney online, I'd love to check them out. My thanks especially to the knight (whose name I forget) whom I fo...

SCA : Baron Lothar, newest Knight of the SCA
Lothar, Landed Baron of Dragonspine, Outlands was Knighted Sunday at Outlands 20 year Celebration. Upon King Bela asking him into court, the populous erupted.
Sir Lothar was the squire of Duke Albert's. The vigil and ceremony were both spended to watch.
Cheers

For those of you who use foam, what's the ideal give for 1/2 inch, non-smurf-blubber foam? I know you don't want too much, but at the same time, I don't think I want it to simply be a different hard surface in contact with my head. I tend to use 1/2" camp mat with 1" open cell foam on the inside < ...

Please, please, please, don't use glue to hold your padding in. It is usually a P.I.T.A. to remove. Use duck tape or gaffers tape rolled into little tubes to hold your padding in place, especially if it is only temporary!!! Even double sided tape is a pain. I do konw both of these from personal expe...
