Cajun, I know alot of re-enactors and such take pride in playing nice and not "breaking" other people's toys in combat. The madu's I seen at Leed's was aprox 2 1/2 to 3 foot total length. Closer to 2 1/2' with basicaly a small bucker < finger buckler sizish >. I have a set from GAA. Not bad, they do have slight ridges on the inside. The ridges acually hold the plates together rather well even if the cording is severed. Just used my vest this past weekend, worked rather well. You will get dents in the vest though, they do ,however, form back pretty easily ...
