Zweihammer, if you ever get a pic of the stake it would be nice because my limited mind has a little trouble seing it. http://www.armourarchive.org/ubb/wink.gif Ted, thanks for the welding info. I will pass it on to the man who is going to do the welding. Taking a course myself is in the plans but t...

WOW! Thanks for the input. I think I am set now I just have to find the steel to do this. A friend of my Dad has a shop with the welding equipment to put it all together. I will do the grinding and finishing after that. I guess stakes are like hammers, the more the better. Anders, for raising, I was...

List of useful stakes?

Here's what I want to start with. 1)Bichorn sp? 2)Ball stakes (as many sizes as I can) 3)Offset ball stakes (as many sizes also) 4)Creasing stake 5)Raising stakes (2 sizes) Anymore I woul...

I bought mine at Réno-Dépôt. If I remember well, Rona didnt carry the Makita at the time. Try asking at the service center if you can order it, at either store. It is not something they sell often and may not have it in stock but if you order one maybe. The best place to order rivets if you are i...

I dont know about down there in the states but up here in Canada, you have an electrician do it because if you ever have an electrical fire and they find out that you had some electrical work done by someone else you may find yourself without insurance. A couple hundreds $ compared to 150000+$. I am...

The one I was looking at was rated at 50 Amps max. so I guess that means I will go with the 230V and have an outlet put in.

Thanks for your advices

Other than that, keep up the good work.

115V or 230V?

I will be buying an arc welder, mainly for tool construction, tables, racks etc. Is the small ones they sell at Home Depot that works on regular household current strong enough or should I get a bigger one and have a outlet put in in my garage? Keep in mind that I will not be doing production here, ...

RD, maybe you havent noticed but people on this forum are not big fantasy fans. Some are but it tends to go more towards historical accuracy.

Maybe if he didnt use the word Sallet in the description.
