You have to iron it on the metal. You will mess up a couple of sheets at first, but I will save you a little (warm up the metal first) But not too hot.

No, but people want cages in there fighting helms, so I put them in. Here is one that has an interchangable visor, 1 for historic and 1 for fighting.

Looks like you did a fair good job so far. You got the shape down. I myself use 2 straps on each thumb side by side with about almost a straps width between them. It is always hard to tell about your movement range by the photos, but if you need help, give me a call or an PM.
