In Ansteorra we have had a division for 16 and 17 year olds. It's been a generally dismal failure, because it's a short window. Kids turn 16 and now they can only fight people who's birthday is within 2 years up from their own. I don't recall seeing youths fight each other in this division in my 8 y...

At the break-down marshals meeting at last GW, the princess of the West (who was KEM before they won crown) asked the SEM for permission to try out no-pad thrusting. He said sure. I was there. He further encouraged other kingdoms to try out extremely low profile thrusting tips. Here's the deal. Virt...

Well, like Pennsic, you CAN register ghosts for more sq feet.

I know that the East always has a contingent there. Ice Falcon and some of his guys are always there as well as others. I don't recall the last time there wasn't an EK royal presence.

Question... Would a fighter be allowed to fight single sword wearing nothing but a finger-exposing half-gauntlet on his other hand? Answer: NO. Ergo, hold must be called. Re: Question for the SCA Martials

Well, since theoretically you can't protect your fingers any more, a hold should be called. You can't put your fist against your side and "guarantee" your hand won't move, right? I think for practical purposes you'd probably be ok, but this is my interpretation of the rules. Regardless of ...

If you preemptively deny, people accuse you of being defensive. If you don't say anything, they wildly speculate. What's a kingdom to do?

I would say that this is less likely to hurt attendance then the economy as a whole.

Why do you need 4 principals?

Breathing warm air triggers a natural self-defense reaction. You can learn to control it. It's that mechanism that is the reason why airflow helps... cooler air feels like you're not caught in a fire, basically. LOL But it is all in your head, as has been stated. You can get over it, if you try. Sou...

of course different kingdoms have different opinions on the Pennsic thing. The farther west you go the less important Pennsic is. A Trimaris or Ansteorran looks at Pennsic as important for Gulf Wars, and Gulf Wars is a requirement. I doubt there's anywhere near as much recruiting done at Pennsic for...
