I did alittle experimenting last night. If you file the roping before you close the roll, it turns out pretty nice.

Roped Edges

What's the best way to rope a rolled edge? A chisel tends to flatten the roll and I can't get a file close enough to the main part of the plate. Thank you for your time and input.

I would say it's probably some sort of plague prevention device. Along the same line as the "bird head" masks you usually see.

My first post.
Since most of Mr. Cross' "knowledge" comes from early twentieth century material, has he built a crane to hoist his knights into the saddle?
