Honestly, with the time you have I would suggest just buying some steal as recocmended above in the dimensions you want like width and length; grind out the blade then harden and quench them. Forging a sword is a very difficult project especialy when done right. Getting a sheet of steel, grinding ou...

I have been in Law Enforcement the past 6 years. What has worked for me in staying in shape is maintaining endurance muscles and cardio. I used to lift real heavy but now I lift doing 50% of your max weight lifting with as many reps you can do. It also increases cardio especialy when you do not let ...

I am a short fighter (5'5") and I use the pop up attack alot since the majority of my opponents are much taller than me. The main thing I have noticed that you dont have to bend your knees that much to get the jump or extra length to hit on top of the head. I bend my knees only 2 inches and keep my ...

I am on my second suit of lamellar. MY first set is 1.5 inches wide by 3 inches long 20 gauge 401 stainless. They absorb impact pretty good even without padding underneath. Only issue is the do get bent out of shape at times as well as spear thrusts hurt considerably without padding of course. I am ...

I was looking into myself making a Lorica Plumata but I could not get the materials together such as all the riveted rings to make an entire shirt. Also getting the scales made, holes measured and punched without breaking the savings account . So I will have to put it on my to do list later on hopef...

Not to steal this thread, but I noticed that person on the website made the leather aged looking as well as bronze like. I was wondering how that is done? It looks real good and it gives the leather a real feel to it sort of speak. I am about to edge my scales with 4 ounce oiled, waxed cow hide and ...

I use the para cord, in fact I bought a big 1000 spool of it since I use it so much. Its a bit tight with Felix's Scales but if you burn the ends its not to bad. I also advise to be careful in burning the edges, I had some of the stuff melt and fall on my finger. It hurt like hell especialy when it ...

200 dollars... It is possible. I invested 100 dolars in materials for my first set of Lamellar, but I had access to about 1000 dollars worth of tools to make them. If you make them out of leather most likely you could buy the materials as well as tools around that price range. As for the Ring Lord S...

14 gauge stainless?? That will be awfuly heavy for lamellar. I used 20 gauge 401 stainless and after all said and done my kit weighs 25 pounds with 240 scales. That will be very heavy to make out of Lamellar. As for persona Lamellar was used in just about all types of cultures. Romans, Vikings, the ...

Hello all still working on my scale. The locking scale with wire has not gone as well as I hoped. Baculus those are the exact tools I used for my Lamellar. It was funny when I did not debure my scales and laced them up to have the lace cut from the scales in a matter of days. A hard lesson I learned but I know not to ever do that again. When you get going, it goes real fast and it is pretty easy...
