Re: CLANG Yard Sale
Buckle Hardware Group This group consists of: 11 strap ends, some of which sorta match, and others of which can be made to match by reversing them and putting the little hash-marks on the back. 5 long buckle straps (used to attach buckles to plates). 3 of them sorta match. 3 short buckle straps, a c...

Buckle Group 3 This is a set of 20 mis-matched test buckles. They are perfectly functional, but none of them match. They're mostly the result of me playing with decoration ideas that I ended up not using. The spectacle buckles on the top row are a little beat-up (not sure how), but the others are de...

Buckle Group 2
This is a set of matching simple spectacle buckles. They are perfectly functional; I just decided to make the production items with wider "loops".
They are steel, made for 5/8 straps. There are 10 matching center-bar buckles.
Price: $25/group

This is a set of similar, but mis-matched test buckles. They are perfectly functional, but I don't think any 2 of them match exactly.

Re: FS: Steel armor buckles and sets
I have some stock of these made up already-I'll take an inventory of what I have and post it here. I also have a small box of mis-matched, nearly-matched, or sets of 8 or 10 that I don't plan to make more of. I'll post those also. Need to take pics. I didn't want to have to tool up a lot of sizes, s...

FS: Steel armor buckles and sets
I did all the R&D work on these about a year ago, and they've just been sitting here since. I keep thinking, "Hey-I should let people know I have these-maybe I'll sell some!" :) Most original armor buckles are actually steel, although a lot of them are gilded. I've had a hard time trying to find ste...

Re: FS: Rivet rosettes for armor
Another note-if you want to use these for combat armor, I recommend filling the backs with solder to make them "solid". I use this technique for my Roman rivet bosses and it works quite well to keep them from getting flattened out. I can provide this service also, but I figure it will about double t...

FS: Rivet rosettes for armor
I recently had a need for a handful of brass rosettes to finish a cabasset, so I took the opportunity to make the necessary tooling to produce them. I have 5 similar styles that I can make with my current tooling. They have either 6 or 7 lobes, and come with or without a circular border. Each style ...

Hi,
I'm about to make some stainless spaulders for a couple of other clients-could add a pair to the build for you if you want. You can see options here:

Shoot me an email if you're interested.

Might be a good deal, depending on what the guy has, and if all are in as good of a shape as his sample pic. Too far for me, though. Like 2400 miles too far.

Re: Jingasa Quote Needed
Admittedly, I haven't done an in-depth study of them, but I have seen several made of iron, so I presume those were intended as light armor, although my guess would be that they were for police and so forth. The reason I've edged away from the idea of making a combat version is that I don't think th...

I /love/ these hats. Not sure why-just kinda whimsical, I guess. If you want to discuss a lighter steel version, shoot me an email. Mild, mostly 14 ga, professionally powder-coated red with satin clear-coat, synthetic lacing. Final weight in this configuration is about 12.5 lbs (5.5 kg). :\ I'm looking into lighter alternatives for the shikoro and nodowa lames-spring steel, spring stainless, or titanium. Will post as development...

Re: can I bake the leather after died and waxed?
If you bake the leather BEFORE it's dead, the ASPCA will be all over you like white on rice!
Sorry-couldn't resist.
What do you mean by "waxed"? Do you mean wax-impregnated, or just putting a wax finish over it to protect the surface?
