looks should not outweigh safety. We know that Tube and Tennis ball ammo is the safest yet functional ammo so to not use it is just senseless. A tube arrow looks no more or less offensive than rubber shield edging or the craptastic armor that many (not all but many) combat archers wear. And then of...

Trimaris does not allow tubed arrows or bolts. If a visitor uses them we will make exceptions (kind of like hocky gloves) but you cannot live in Trimaris and shoot them. really? What is the reasoning behind that? I would think that a siloflex arrow would be safer than a shafted one. Guess you misse...

No

Probably the widest use bolt/arrow is the UHMW cored blunt or Baldar Classic blunt on fiberglass shafts. I might be wrong, Duchess Tessa may be able to provide a more complete view though.

Okay, so maybe the "hate them" part was too much, changed the title. My main purpose was to let both parties recognize each other and maybe we can sit down face to face at an event and talk this over like civilized people, i.e. over a pour of scotch. 8)

I don't believe I've ever whined about it.
YMMV.

D,

I believe I can speak for others in this matter, you are not even on a list of whiners, no matter the subject.

The only incident I recall coming from An Tir was the Paul Chen helm with excessive gaposis (i.e. non-legal spacing between the bars) allowing a legal arrow in. I don't recall anything else though.

We were told it never happens then it did. We were told it was a 1 in a 1000000 chance then it happened 6 times in a year 3 times in 1 battle. The *SHAFT* of a fiberglass arrow did not penetrate 3 times in one battle. It in fact penetrated 0 times. The *foam* of the HEAD (again, this new Baldar des...

So because they do one particular thing that works well, allows for combat archery to be used, and prevents injury I can't use Calontir as an example? That is some very poor logic. Except the logical fallacy is in how you perceive their decision making. They simply never changed anything expect tha...

Then it is not a "false" compromise, it simply isn't enough for you. I was asked what compromises I thought were acceptable and I stated them. I have compromised the rules in lessening the agreed upon legal target area to those areas, hence the compromise. In your mind what is enough?

So, to use your numbers of %10-20, although this would be a compromise of the allowed target areas it's false because its not enough? What is enough then? %30, %50, %90? I mean really, wasn't it stated that a compromise is when both sides give up something? Just because you don't like the number doe...

As a long time Combat Archer I honestly believe that the rules will always need tweaking. As time passes and events unfold new data and new materials pop up and require a good looking at. That being said I would challenge everyone to take a look at the safety record of Combat Archery over it's 30 + ...
