Uhhmm Not from My experience... The best place for the top (Blade side) tang is the front (Toward Enemy). When done right it Puts the basket Squarely and firmly against the rattan with no air gap. That way when the basket is hit it is already in contact with the rattan and NO Force is exerted agains...

They are talking about the upside down "V" gap above the brow band where the side (crossing band) splits. Was also my first thought as to whether or not that was small enough to keep a 1 inch rod out.

Many decades ago... when I worked at a Tandy Leather store.. My manager told me the tool for setting the rivets with a domed head was a "Stinker" tool. The Co. just threw the little stinker into the process to make more money. He told me that the rivet was MUCH stronger when set completely...

A series of Loops (with keepers and buttons) the reason I used them was a more period flavour and keeping a thematic look to essentially metal lacing cards.

Also this Particular body was done as Macedonian Lamallar (Alexander the TOOL period)
The buttons WERE a little large with this one :roll:
