It's a V grind from the spine. All the way. But it cannot stand cutting hard plastic bottles without the edge rolling and warping! So it's not a battle sword.

The Kris Cutlery one cuts better because of a slightly more substantial blade presence, plus a wider blade geometry making the edge angle sharper. It just cut through so effortlessly. We're running the first annual members' cutting test event, emphasizing on "minimal effort" in the cuts. I performed the demo so they will have an idea on the goal. The demo was done with 2.5" rolls with gloves on.

Testing Alvin DS in doing single handed leg cuts. Only 3 were successfully cut through. The sword's lighter weight and balance, plus the higher flexibility contributed to this.

I was using Taku's cold steel grosse messer RSW to spar with him, who was using Old Ghost's 2 handed Han Jian (very long). I was trying to show Taku how the shorter, heavier sword could deal with the longer, lighter sword.
