Charles V era Landsknechts

http://spotted.juneauempire.com/images/100025/photos/2008/07/05/gallery/1803827.jpg Is this close to the paneled look that you like? It was made for me some years (and pounds) ago by Master Domingo who was of course partial to the Charles V influence. This is one of our dancers borrowing it for the...

do it yourself on the cheap

Karl, Plate definately appeals visualy. The woodcut of the dopplesoldner shown below would be my kit to end all kits. Unfortunately, the household purse does not support that sort of expenditure in the foreseeable future. m What you want is very similar to what I made. I admit that I am not very co...

leder

Karl I've always like that drawing from Kohler and I think one day I might make a hidden brig/body armour based on that ledergolar. So far I have not found a single reference to the ledergolar being remotely associated to armour. That's not to say it would not have been worn by a soldier for protec...

Michael - maybe the Waffenrock might be the way to go for now from the armor that you describe. Finding a helm that looks and works good is always a challenge. I think that this is the leather body armour folks here have been referring to" http://www.theweebsite.com/landsknecht/images/lanarmour...

Re: Golden age of the landsknecht?

[quote="Michael Ekelmann"]After much self-reflection and consideration about what I want from the SCA, WMA studies and recreation, I’ve decided to give up the vague, amorphous generi-Scot persona I’ve had. I’ve lived and travelled extensively in Germany, my dad’s family is only thr...

Hi, so I'm not only new to this whole historically accurate reenactment thing, but also to forums as such.
