For hose and chausses, I have nothing but good things to say about TailorMade Garments . I have two pairs of their linen hosen, and they are great. A few of my lady friends have bought their stockings with equal satisfaction. The foot area is a seperate sole with a vamp (as opposed to the flat seam ...

Attractive in a female sense, or in an armour sense? Aka, is she looking for something that is anatomically correct, or has really nice historical lines? Flexing the way it should really just entails the lowest point be above her natural waist (easiest way to find this is have someone put a hand on ...

I know you asked Greenshield, but I feel semi-qualified to answer as I had this problem until I figured it out. What I do is start the wrap above my calf just below t...

Looks interesting. You may want to try and work on a bit more definition out of fluting on some scrap. I can't tell if you did or not in the pictures, but you might want to make sure the edges on the front gap are fairly blunt, unless you want to accidentally cut your face (It was shaving, I swear!)...

The swallow may fly south with the sun, or the house martin or the plover may seek warmer climes in winter, yet these are not strangers to our land.
Are you suggesting that coconuts are migratory?

I don't use sole bend for armour when I am going to be hardening the leather. I find it harder to form than a near equal thickness of saddle skirting and for a nominal benefit in hardness/strength of the finished piece. I use 13-15 oz saddle skirting for my leather armour. I also don't recommend le...

I believe Thorbrandr/Eorann (9-10-94) where the first new monarchs to not be followed by another first timers… and Logan/Arielle (10-5-96) were the second and unless I overlooked something I think Havordh/Mary Grace (4-7-01) were the last to date. So looking at these statistics I can confidently ...

There is also less of a jarring visual aspect if you take elements that they had and use them. Yes, we know they didn't have that, but given the option between a Viking with a greatsword with viking-like fittings vs a kaltz twisted guard, one will be far more appealing. It shows the effort went into...

This is for living history. I. Chaine Maile Haubrek or shirt. You may have a problem finding this, as a) chain mail is a contradiction in terms (maille is by definition made out of small interlocking rings), and b) never seen that spelling before. Usually it is listed as mail or maille, and hauberk...

Another story about the armoury itself (Ice wasn't in the shop at the time)... A few years ago, he had a run of spears that were not up to his usual standards. Someone I know bought one at Estrella, and then had it break at Gulf Wars (about a month later). I mention to him that I had read of Ice tal...

Don't let anyone tell you that labor is worthless. Materials are cheap. I can by a sheet of stainless for under a hundred bucks and make 5 $1000 helms out of it. Labor is the MAIN cost of armour. I disagree. SKILLED labor is the main cost of armour. I can't make helms. I can lace lamellar. That is ...
