m As much as I HATE the idea of slings, link above in the interest of full disclosure. It shows an unarmoured (or lightly armoured) sling user with a helm and shield using a sling during the maille era during a siege. In Europe. Still think they are a bad idea for the SCA though. Richard Blackmoore

Nope. I asked him about that before starting this thread. They are a real pain to machine in plastic. He'll help me with the sword itself, but I need to come up with a quillon he can carve my cross into.
