Bartok, I would schedule no more than 2-3 min per bout. Depending on the calibur oy your opponents most matches don't last that long. Other suggestions for speeding up the tourney: 1) If you want matched weapons for alot of the bouts without alot of discussion by the participants have a sheild tree ...

In Search of Specific Gauntlets
Hi,
I'm looking for clam shell gaunltes with a partially enclosed thumb tip. Anyone out there make them that way? i.e. if my thumb gets on the wrong side of the gauntlet it grounds out before my thumb gets flattened.
Thanks!
Kylan

I think you could start with any of these 3 and work from there: 1. Armour 2. Weapons 3. Conventions of Combat They are basically a triangle what ever you decide to do with one is going to dictate changes, modifications, decisions for the other 2 sides. For example if you say armour must be plate an...

Lord Magnus, I know what you mean. I have had some excellent motivation lately. I think I need to get into my rig and stand infront of a full length mirror. There is either something I am doing that is inherently wrong or a miscalculation in how my heater shield is hanging but I've been getting tagg...

They are quilted with 4 thin layers of poly-fiber quilting batting. I used it since the cost was low $8 for a big roll. I was afraid that the synthetic fiber would hold onto the heat too much, but it seems that the duct cloth shell allows the heat to wick away from me (i.e. no worse than having leat...

Well after several fighter practices with some occuring in the same week I do believe I'm going to rig some plastic plates for the inside of my Gamboised Cuisses. The padding is just not quite enough when you already have a bruise on a spot. An for the last few days I can't put my car keys in my shi...

I have just made a pair. 2 layers of duck cloth with 4 thin layers of polyester quiliting in between. Only fought in them the one time and we were all using single sword. For single sword I would say they are adequate no different that my old rig of leather and some blue camp foam. With great sword ...

Looking for ideas for a "round table" with hunting
Hello all, As the subject line says I would like to hold a small "round table" with a "hunting" theme. This will be small scale for the participants probably only 2 hunting groups at most. Anyone have any suggestions, events you've been to in the past where they had this and it was fun. Things that ...
