I'm looking for clam shell gaunltes with a partially enclosed thumb tip. Anyone out there make them that way? i.e. if my thumb gets on the wrong side of the gauntlet it grounds out before my thumb gets flattened.

I think the weapon forms you are speaking of are made from thick shoe crepe. If you do a search for sheets of shoe crepe you should find it. In Calontir we require another type of foam glued to the surface of the weapon form to give it sufficient give.
