This is something I've been interested in as well. Trouble is, the majority of Mediaeval Beer was not hopped so it doesn't keep as well as modern beer so breweries would be less willing to produce it. Best advice would be to find some old recipe's and make it yourself! Yeah, but I live in a Manhatt...

Sir Jean Paul, Glad that you enjoyed it! It was a fantastic Crown Tournament overall...it was a very cold day, though (about 35 degrees). I'm about to remake a DVD of the tournament with chapter breaks and the ability to slow down, zoom, etc. The DVD I originally made looks incredible on our big scr...

I assume you are you speaking about this guy here: m Damn I would LOVE to have that armour. BTW, how much would that set cost minus the enamaling? That's HOT. Indeed. all Sir Gabriel fought in at Crown Tourney was a Doublet, that same burgonet, and simple knees. he still looked mighty spiffy. Event...

Michael, I could be wrong but I believe Freiman may mean arms like these. I third the Ironmonger suggestion. My new helm is an Slat-back (now blued and slats covered with a blackened aventail) Oniontop Bascinet from Ironmonger and it is not only very nice looking but it's built like a Mack truck. He delivered it exactly when quoted and at a great price ($225). Eric is als...

Opinions are just that, whether they are solicited or unsolicited. Codpieces varied greatly. Throughout their history they have been both attached (although this can be disputed) and separate, depending on the style of leg garments one was wearing. The codpieces of the 16th century were mostly separate items and could be interchanged (Henry VIII's were). I have som...

Getting into La Tene, Celtic material again shows up in the Irish archaeological record, but the finds are small and isolated. There are trace evidence of settlements that can potentially be of either Celtic families or whole tribes (albeit small ones, if that) all over Ireland, from the Kilfenora/Corofin area of Co. I believe this is an understatement, and I'm starting to think these Archaeologist you worked with were the originators of the "Ireland was best and first" Theory stated earlier.
