Sir,

I know that he is not on your list however Duke Sven Gunnarsson of Drachenwald will be attending Pennsic and I should think that he could/would be of interest in this gathering.

I just read the EK rules and think I understand. I must admit though that I thought thrusts should have a little more umph to them. Essentially a deliberate "draw cut" is no longer needed since there is percussive cuts now. I guess I will just have to try it under the "Watchful gaze&q...

I was fighting with a shield constructed in the same manner for about 2 years and it is still in good shape. However I would say due to injuries, etc. you should only count that as 1 year of fighting. Really the only thing that goes is the rawhide edging after a while which is an easy fix. Thorvaldr

Had I been advised that this was the situation at an earlier time, things may have played out differently. It has been on the squire's mailing list for a couple of months. I know Risteard is on that list although I don't remember ever seeing him respond to the polling or questioning at all. It was heavily answered by our Nordmark cousings

I do know that the Oseberg Tapestry has oval shields on it (circa mid 800's Norway). it has been suggested that that is itself an artifact of the illustration (or needlework). Warriors of the Midrealm, I have not had the pleasure of living in your fair realm, but I did have the honour in years past of being appointed on the field of battle to your Queen's Guard - from the opposing army. For this reason your kingdom has always had a special place in my heart. Those of you...
