Thank you Ernst, nice stuff. I searched around based on your input. The Brueghel painting can be seen here, though not extremely detailed: http://museoprado.mcu.es/icuadro05_octubre_2003.html The barrel seems to be on the left side forefront, but the picture is not detailed enough to see any details...

Historical mail tumbler research
Hi,
I'm desperately looking for historical illustrations of chain mail tumblers (those they made with barels to clean their chain mail).
I'd like to make a historically correct one myself (not a modern one out of a cement mixer).
Any lead will be appreciated !
