Felted wool is a pure wool cloth that has been washed in hot water. This causes the wool fibers to contract (shrink) and bond together. In this state
the fabric can not fray. For more info see this article.

When one is on the knees and sitting on the heels with the toes supporting the body, the ankle is under a great deal of stress and can be easily broken if the other fighter loses balance and falls on you. I have seen it happen. And while not common, it is a bummer. -- Gest That and your opponent co...

So this is my pet theory concerning hip belts- If you look at this page , it shows slits at roughly the hips. I think that a hip belt worn over the straps of a sword and dagger could provide traction for the belt. I do not know if this would work, as I have not had a chance to test the theory. Somed...

Andreas,
On the first and third monday of the month, Duke Fabian has an open project workshop at his house which includes armoring. I believe that you talked to him at practice last week. If you are at practice you could ask him about making some armor.

It looks good, although I do question the placement of the visor strap. The way it is now I would think that you would need a slit in your aventail so that you can pass the buckle through it.

Skivies for the early 16th century

Sooo,
Were men's underwear the same as the late 15th century? I am looking at
the late part of HenryVII and early Henry VIII riegns and have not seen any references to underwear as of yet.
Thanks in advance!
