I hear ya, but that red one from Chartes was made for a teenage boy who was probably quite slender. It is quite easy for boys to pull of the wasp waiste. Second, that one is displayed on a padded form that accentuates the chest. In use, that globose chest would be filled out presumably by a breast p...

It is blue with the red wad buttons, quilted body and arms, etc. just like this pic of Cad. I bought it from someone here years ago but have never worn it. It is brand n...

Looks like a good fit and good shape. How about adding maille gussets to the arming coat for the exposed areas on the arm and a maille skirt for the lower torso. I'm curious about the helmet as well, do you have one or are you still looking?

All and all, a nice looking harness.

Sometimes sacrificing appearence even for the sake of a "cheaper way to get on the field" must be nipped in the bud... then stomped on, burned, and have the ashes scattered in the wind! A plastic hat doesn't even get within a mile of the "reasonable attempt" rule.

The hinge option on the Anshelm bacinets is only offered on a helm he makes and is not designed to just rivet on any hat. He makes each one by hand to fit and no two are really alike. There are two pins on the helm, the latch plate that rotates over the lug, and the lug and hinge itself that is atta...

I still think there needs to be some interest in the time being recreated to attract someone to the cause. The Armeian hillman isn't going to join a late 15th cent Burgundian group if he or she has no interest in it just because it's LH quality. My wife is quite obsessed with the Teke Turkomen tribe...

Gwen- I'm sure that you do have more cross over from other LH to Red Co than from SCA, probably because they already have the same mindset and don't have to get over the myths about LH. Bran- I just don't think you will find a huge move to LH even if you "burst the myth" of how hard it is to do. Peo...
