Leather/[gulp] plastic Lamellar Scales?
Yes, yes, since I can't locate any aluminum scalloped lamellar plates within a reasonable amount of time, I was wondering if anyone knew of persons selling prefabricated leather or ... grrr ... plastic lamellae? I prefer the scalloped or 'bullet' shaped design. Anyone? Thanks in advance, folks. ----...

I agree. Dealing with Otto was nothing less then delightful. Extremely quick response, excellent communication and a top notch stainless helm -- his first if memory serves -- to boot. Glad to hear you had as enjoyable experience as I did. Otto and his wife, Karen, are indeed delightful souls to do b...

What is the typical size for a round and what type of wood is best ... ? I think I want to try a new shield style and I keep hearing that the round provides you with some sound footwork, as it doesn't cover as much as a heater. As a unit, the impressed the hell out of me at Pennsic XXX. I wasn't able to fight, so I was able to observe them as a group. Well done. As people? Hiya, folks -- sorry, been busy. Yes, indeed, it was Chris/Sasuke that made them for me. Actually he made them twice because the first were too small. X-post -- SCA spears [yes, again!]
Yes, this IS a cross-post from Weapons -- because we know how much traffic that area gets, lol. I did a search but couldn't find how to make a spearhead for SCA heavy fighting in the East. This has been mentioned numerous times, but, alas, I can't come up with the post. I remember someone mentioning...

I'm familiar with the "beer coolie" design but I remember hearing of using the street-hockey pucks and thin strips of leather. This seems like an inherently more stable -- and longer-lasting -- way to do it. Anyone remember who brought up this way to do it? ------------------ In Honor and Service, L...

Leather gorget ... ?
Hi folks. I'm 90% done with my new armour, the only thing left is a gorget -- and I want to make it out of 14-ounce vegtan. Anyone recommend a pattern? Also, I remember someone mentioning that they water-formed one of their leather gorgets. How so? Thanks! ------------------ In Honor and Service, Lu...

Definitely talk to Joe at Minamoto if you're interested in custom work. Granted, I'm biased as he just finished a set of pauldrons and 3-piece elbows for me -- and they're excellent -- but regardless, he's great to work with. The items had splendid mobility, great articulation. Not to mention, he ex...

MERP - Middle Earth Role Playing Game
Hi, folks. I'm looking for an MERP [Middle Earth Role Playing] stuff that people might have to sell. I know Janos had a lot but I fear it's gone. No minatures, mind you, simply books. 1st or 2nd addition, it doesn't matter. Anyhoo, it's one of those games that I simply adored growing up and would lo...

I like the feeling of acceptance the SCA breeds. Sure, some nitpick and some bitch, but in general the acceptance is much higher in this arena than in most others. Okay, maybe I'm missing it, but wasn't there supposed to be a site here on the AA for leather patterns?
If that's not the case, does anyone have an good sites to go to?
