The knee and below are not target areas and by default there is knee fighting, however other systems are allowed or alternate formats, such as points only to the waist and above, points thrown or received, traditional Pas formats, etc. Adrian tournaments are typically 2 out of 3 fights, so effective...

Adria splintered from the SCA in 1989 I think. From what I can tell, it was not so much dissafection with the SCA, but wanting to do something different - using steel swords, more armor and initially they were a single time period 1450 French court. I was told the originators also wanted to reenact ...

Fransisco, Depends a lot on the region. But there is a variety of skill level based on where you go and who's trained you. In our area there are many long time SCA solid unbelts who fight as well as my husband who is a KSCA since 1990 and started fighting rebated steel in Adria in 1999. We all still...

I agree, that rock's for the most part do tend to have a short sleeve, or just long sleeves attached, with both/either possibly worn over an underdoublet which might or might not have sleeves. What we don't see with men's rock sleeves is them tied on with big bows with a gap between the armscye and ...

I usually use china silk. Its cheap and even a wide tube of it condenses down to 1" or so wide.

To make a 1/2 bow, just make the first side of a normal bow, then instead of making a second bow, just pull the end through.

Some even have a double bow, but both loops are on the same side...

We do German. Wide silk tied garters show up before the turn of the century in the continent. They are rampant in the early landsknect clothing. But there are examples of thinner tied garters on the English before 1530 and even later, there are varied widths. I'd imagine the German immigrants to Lon...

I think that is what I like about wieght watchers vs standard calorie counters. It has some formula that takes into account calories, fat grams and fiber grams, so I find it helps determine the most bang for the buck. I recommend weight watchers on line. By logging your food and researching what you can fit in, it will help you figure out where you are blowing it and where you can save the most calories. For fighting with rebated steel swords, I had to have the metal cut away a bit in the area between thumb and forefinger to acheive a good grip. We alway have sod cloths on the tent walls, so first goes the plastic tarp, then canvas , then fold the sod cloth in, then rugs. Very comfy.

If its rainy, the sodcloth goes under the canvas.
