Does anyone have the link to SOFC's original tutorial on how to make rivited maille tools ? I know there is the one on Arador but it is missing a lot of information.
Also, does someone know what forth armoury now uses to make the rivet setting tongs ?
It must work better then linesman pliers.
Thank you in advance.

Seems like the rivet setting pliers are modified concretor's nippers or small carpenter's pliers.

I currently make the tongs out of "tile nippers" from Home Depot. You want the el-cheapo $12 ones, not the high-end chrome vanadium ones (you will never be able to drill and tap them).
The articles may be a bit incomplete these days but you can get the general idea here:

The rivet setting tongs I used to make out of the cheap end nippers from Harbor Freight. Again, you don't want the fancy chrome vanadium guys - you will have a hard time machining them.
We sell them for $30.

Thanks a lot Steve. I was considering the Pro GT tile cutter, you just saved me from
a lot of frustration and expensive errors.
I never thought of end nippers, guess i'll have to find a pair that fits the purpose.

Also, i found the original version of your tutorial, only the pictures don't work so i'll use those on Arador.
Thanks again!

My advice is to just spring for Stephan's kit. Its well worth the very modst cost. And in a shameless plug for Stephan, he is a great guy to do business with, order arrived promptly, and he was extremely friendly in all my contacts with him.
