sticking metal to leather

how do you stick metal to leather for a gauntlet ?

Rivets, preferably ones with large flat heads. You could use any rivets if you use washers.

I have great luck with contact cement from home depot. dap in the red can works great on all metals even titanium.
apply two coats to the metal letting it dry. apply three to the leather. then when its slightly tacky stick them together.
if you dont wait until its almost dry the solvents will allow the leather to peel away from the metal as it weakens the contact cements bond on the metal.
all my demi gauntlet gloves and elbow pads are contact cemented in.

I like contact cement too.
Sun Tuz talks about the glues in war materials and supplies.
It is in his inventories if I remember correctily.
