Wearing a master Cad Bascinet, a Mad Matt aventail, Andy ward gaunts, James River legs and using a Mermuys hilt and pommel set.

My lady made my particolored angel wing surcoat. My Uncle Samuel gave me the boots, plus a bad haircut, about fifteen years ago.

William:

I noticed the helm liner (ala Steve SoFC) that your lady wife made for you. This looks good with the Cadwallon bascinet.

He referenced a brigandine that "shrank" in another thread, but I *might* have imagined it.

William:

I'd love to see what the brigandine looks like.

Suggestions:

I think a very mobile arm harness of full plate would make the look...tempered steel would be a fine compromise between weight and protection for that. An addition of greaves wouldn't hurt the look, either. An addition of even a simple leather scabbard for the rattan sword would give you a place to keep it without problems at those indoor events.

Thanks for the comments guys. Yep, I am wearing body armour. I'm wearing an old EGG armoury corrazinna that I refurbished when I started reading the archive. It still needs some work. I need to redo the straps.

T-Bob, I do have green leather shynbalds, just not wearing them at practice. I also have steel arms by James River, but they're a tad on the large side and I'm going to be contacting him soon for refitting/upgrade.

Eventually, I'd like to have a forth armoury haubergeon and spring steel limb armour from Historic.

Now that's a nice pic. Thanks.
You look invincible....

But remember....

The helm appears red in the pic, so you definitely look like a Christmas tree with an attitude! Image

Hi William,
It's great to see you all decked out. Thanks for the pics.
-Cad

ps I like the green leather for the aventail, and the lining is way cool!

Thanks guys!

I plan to have a number of changes by Pennsic:

1. My pourpoint should be finished by spring. Then I'll be able to point my legs directly to that, instead of an improvised (but effective!) leg belt that I'm currently using.

2. I should have a padded long sleeve gambeson of linen and or cotton. My wife has offered to do it particolored green and white.

3. I will be wearing steel arms. I have steel arms now, but they are a bit too large. I need to have a refit done.

4. I will have 2 new shield completed...a birch heater and a steel buckler. The heater will have a guige, no shield basket, edged with rope and covered with canvases leather and gesso. Raised charges in leather as well.

5. Brais, chausses and better shoes, maybe even turnshoes.

6. I hope to have my endurance up to fight more with the klapvisor on. To that end, I'm going to start practising with it on more.

7. Either a globose or seven piece brestplate.

8. Spaulders.

9. A tight fitting jupon, to give me that wasp-waisted look. My wife was volunteered to do my device on it.

That's it for now, but that's enough! :O

Eventually, I'll roll around again to the front of Cads queue....then I'll get cool finger gaunts with little bucklers. Also on the eventual list is a Forth Haubergeon and Historic limb armor.
