Well now I'm asking myself if I should put a 3 lames fauld without tassets (if so, should I need sloted rivets for lateral movement) Or just put 1 or 2 lames with tassets. I think I could make some pins at the bottom of my breastplate so I could remove the fauld for more movement. On this picture does the fauld is too tall?
I've been designing an articulated breastplate after this one. I only saw the first progress pic so I was aiming for was something similar, but not the same. But now I see I've drawn the finished product! That's pretty weird!
Wow! That is absolutely phenomenal! I have been looking for an example of plate armor that really catches my fancy while remaining period, and it seems I’ve found it. Would you be so kind as to divulge information on patterns? I don’t really have the equipment for making metal armor, but I’m wondering if it would be possible to use the same design with hardened leather. What period is this armor from, roughly? Is there any protection from the back? I would like to see some shots from different angles. It is truly a beautiful piece of work.
First it's not a period armour, its more period inspirated. the back isn't made yet but I'm working on this. For the pattern it is really easy to make you just need to look well so you can draw them. For leather armor I think it would need soft leather straps in the inside (mine doesnt need straps). Maybe I'll post patterns on the pattern archive, this will make some happy armourers
