Hospital "surgery caps" - usually cheap, disposable, and they will do the job. My cousin is a nurse with REALLY (like below the hips) hair, and fits it all in one for her work.

Scary reminders. Mine's long enough to reach the kidneys, more or less. Trimmed it back a bit not too long ago, had been down to my belt.

Ponytail with multiple ties, or braid. Tucked down the shirt.

I got over that "common solution" schreiber implemented at about age ten :P

I apologize for laughing. It's not that you getting hurt was funny (it's not, glad you didn't get a catastrophic injury), but it was the way you described it. Especially the cat and bag of peas.

I do what Hrolf does. The topnot half pulled thru.

Tho I should get mine cut back to about mid spine.....

no need to apologise for laughing.

it was, after all, rather something to mock me for. I'm pretty sure the little ginger whinger scooting round my feet has been laughing at me most of the last day, in her own way. "look at the stupid food ape..."

and it's always good to have a reminder. wakes you up from getting complacent - the better part of 15 years observing safety as a sculptor, and never had an accident like that, and one freak chance changes all that.
could've easily stopped it forever, if I'd not been lucky.

today it's some hairnets in the post for me, and the side of my head black and blue. was one hell of a whack I had...

one more option would be a rasta hat.
Cheap running under 20 and plenty of room for long hair.
Not sure if it will fit under a welding mask or bump cap/hardhat.
