Hi guys, heres a pic of the first Breastplate I ever bought, its on the right and from Christian Fletcher, you now see where I got the idea of putting a fauld on the bottom of a Globose, I just didnt know any better and thought that was how it was done. I used to think it was just awesome but now Im thinking I like the shape of mine alot better. Ill let you guys decide.

Take care

Golden rule number one, work from extant, dated pieces and not others work. As you have shown, now always the best option, oft ignored though!

Hi Thomas, yes I agree totally. Mad Matt and many others here have told me the same thing and now I see why. Thanks a bunch to everyone here at the AA, These new breastplates, and many new techniques and upgrades to my armor, are due to my interaction with you people.

Thank you

The left one, looks better and has more shape than the right one, in my opinion.

Cheers,

Robert

Pitbull, how much for yours?

Looking good mate! I agree with the guys in that checking with the originals is a good idea. I made a breast plate once and made it too round. When I went to swing a sword, I was restricted in movement.

Just make sure its functions well before making any more.

And in defense of Christians work: I don't believe that this was intended to be a 14th century globose breastplate. The general shape, flare, cut in the flare for the saddle etc imply 15th C to me.

Pitbull, the fact you are willing to listen to others and improve your techniques does you much honour.

Hi there, thanks for the good words and inuput.

Sean, Thank you for the info on the shapes Ill take closer looks at different years. I didnt mean to sound like I was attacking CF, I should add that he made this 7-8 years ago also. Ill change the title of the thread to be less confrontational, Mr Fletchers skills are far above mine, I was just pleased to find out I actually liked mine better :0).

Baron Alejandro, I sell these for 225 like this.

Happy Thanksgiving.
