Evidence for Front opening lammelar?

Guys,
I am just curious.
Is there any evidence for lammelar that cracks up the front?
I was just wondering. I am primarily interested in western europe in the earlier periods (about 700 AD).
The more I think about it, the more curious I get.

There is some evidence for late 3rd & early 4th century Roman lorica lamelar, that have a bit in the front, just at the collar, that looks to have opened to allow it to be put on. I usually see the form associated with calvary, but that may be a misunderstanding, likje most of the all-encompasing late gallic helmets used to be thought calvary are now thought to have been for infantry use as well.
Matthew Amt could probably chime in with more useful information
