Length of fullering...

Greetings!
I'm working on an SCA rattan Pas de Armes sword, and I'm actually putting fullers on it. Looking about online, it seems like fullers start from the cross guard and can run just about any length along the sword. The only extant example from the period I've found is from the research of a gentleman re-creating a templar sword in the university of london.
Here's the relevant link:

Since I am making this for a more authentic look, I was hoping to be somewhat accurate in this. In period, was there a common length to the fuller, or did it vary from sword to sword? If anyone is curious, I'm using a plunge router to put 1/4 fullers in.
Thanks for your time.
