time place and dates for armour

hi there

im in need of some help
i have a pic of some armour that i like and would like to
know where and when it came from.

as it is only a half suit i would like to know more about other suits of
simmerler orrigens aswell so i can cross refferance peaces and
build a full suit

It is probably from "Eastern Europe", ie Poland, Russia, or down towards Hungary. I'd date it no earlier than 1570, and it may be 17thC.

You've probably got a photo of 17th century armour. More specifically Heavy Cuirassier armour:

The helmet would be a savoyard or "death's head Burgonet".

First half of the 17th century. This style armour was built in part to withstand gunfire. On many suits you will see a "proof" mark. A circular dent, that shows the armour had been shot at and survived.
