Height vs COP size

This is potentially a dumb question but I don't have the Visby book with me. Has anyone ever tried to corelate the height of the person who died with the size of the COP they were wearing? This data MIGHT be included in a forensic analysis of the find but there are some formulas that corelate femur length and forearm length to height (within a certain range of error) and in a few of the grave pictures you can see enough bone to take measure of bone length and a measure of plate size.

The reason I ask this is Eltz-Kempenich post about hip protection and COPs. Many effigies would imply that the COP should extend over the hips to near groin level. Is it possible that we have NON-artwork based coroberation of this fact?

Just a meandering thought.
