Move on and buy another helm my friend. If the rest of your armour is ready, you can probably find a loaner. I would go to your loval group and find a guy, probably the local knight marshal. Don't buy another helm without having someone to guide you, especially over the internet. The archive is a little different in that you can usually get references from someone here.
I look foreward to seeing you on the field someday,

yea thanks again guys for the advice well heres a pic of the real helmet I just got.Im going to try and sell it so I can buy a SCA helm.I payed 230 all together so if anyone would trade even a basic helm that needs alittle work that could work for the sca im game just show me some pics.
Greetings from wyvern cliffe Calontir.
You're in Flynthill right?
1. You said you ordered this helm custom from nautical armour? Can you list EXACTLY what your requirements were?
I am suspecting that what you asked for is not what you got. If that is the case, then you may have a case to return the helmet to them for a refund. Because to be completely honest, paying $230 for an indian made helm is robbery.
2. Have you talked to any of the guys up there? I know some people from around there and I don't think they would have steered you to this website for SCA gear. Have you talked to Grimr? He is an armourer. If nothing else he can provide information on what to look for and who to stay away from.
Finally, how big is your head. It just so happens I have a corinthian laying in my collection that I would be willing to unload.

I would say that this is a learning expirience. Perhaps a cheaper learning expirience than a lot of folks have. You don't have to start with the perfect helmet, it can be a goal. Get on the field, get rolling, get a better idea of what you will want. Only experience can tell you what you want.

or save your money until you CAN buy the perfect helm.

Well, unfortunately it looks like you may have gotten screwed. I looked around on their site and they don't have ANY information about returns, let alone any replacement/return guarantee. Infact I don't even think these guys are in the USA. The wording on their site is about as good as a 12 year old. Which makes me think they are not English speaking as a natural language. More than likely this is a face company for an Indian exporter.
The Corinthian I have should fit you just fine. I have a 23.5" brow line and the helm is just a bit to small for me. Your's being 22.5" should make fitting the helm just fine. Below are some pics of the helm I have.
The previous owner painted it in gold paint and added the vertical bar under the nasal. The vertical bar is not needed for structural or SCA regs. and can be removed. It is only riveted on. This is a James River Armoury helm, built for SCA. I think it is a 12ga top and 14ga sides.
If you are interested PM me or email me and we can discuss price.

The 2 cross members are welded on. AND that is how the helm was built. If you go to the James River Armoury site you will see that he puts cross pieces on that helm.
The central vertical bar is only riveted on and was added by the original owner. It can be removed easily enough.

I saw Adrastos' helm tonight at fighter practice and my advice to him was to shelve said helm and grab up the helm that Aiden (InsaneIrish) has. In my humble opinion.
