Maybe it should be put somewhere else, but I thought it could be inspiring to se all the newly made armour..

Thanks for posting those.

Damn, that looks impressive. I've saved dozens of images for future inspiration and idea-mining. :)

Peikko, true! :) "The Battle of Wisby 650 years" took place during the medieval week i Wisby, and during that week there is a lot of different groups attending and a lot of SCA'dians, So there will be a lot of anachronistic situations! :)

Awesome as all these pictures are, I found a few of them have a little more 'Hundred Years War' feel to them. The number of solid, globose style breastplates with stop-ribs threw me off a little. Not much, since all the participants looked cool as hell. Especially the guy with the upside-down funnel topped bascinet. Complete Awesomesauce.

But no one was wearing any lamellar :(

When the wife schedule our World Tour, I plan to stop at Wisby for Medieval Week. (yeah, right)

This one is one of my faves:

Image

And this one. Love the details, like the guy in the center with the gambeson -- he has a scale-edged, cloth aventail. And there's that guy at the left with the mattock.
Image

Dooooood. I wanna be this guy. Okay, I want his build, too.

Damn.

Ah, I was unaware of that...that would make more sense then :D

I stand corrected.

Sweden has Wisby, and people want to do reenactments of it.

Western Nevada has the Donner Party, and no one wants to host a BBQ.

The Swedes have all the fun. :(

I've looked through that photo album several times now, and every time I do, I get this goofy grin on my face. Love what y'all are doing. :D

My grin is somewhere between "goofy" and "shit-eating."

IvanIS, yeah that is strange... :P

Maybe a cake?

I once went to an SCA event in Sweden where they served cake looking like the remnants of a knight, slayed by a dragon, very spectacular and tasty!! :)

Well there was only what 1 and maybe a fragment of a second and the one was really old and retro fitted :D

Heck even many of the found CoPs were a bit old school at the time; Wisby soldiers were not thought to have the most up to date gear.

@ James B.
Yeah, I know...I just really like the Wisby Lamellar. I've read The Book, and whatever related material I can get my hands on. My persona wears an idealized version of the Type 24 and Type 25 armours.
Agreed, the Gotlanders seemed to be wearing out-of fashion, older gear.
