Hello all, just wanted to review some premium combat armour I received from Christian Fletcher about 3 weeks ago. I would have done it sooner, but I forgot my password.First of all it came fast! I ordered in November for Mid Feb delivery and it was finished by the end of january. He only charged 25% down when he started work, and the remainder on completion( I LIKE DAT!)I ordered the Gothic style leg and Arm Harness with brass trim with Gaunlets and sabatons. This has the look of early 15th century armour, Like was worn at Againcourt. The Articulation on the knees and elbows was fantastic. No gaps, when extended or flexed.Great job on the rivit spacing there. The fit was excellent except for the lowwer cannons being a little on the tight side. The polish was excellent. And the Brass trim really stands out.The only complaints are as follows. In a couple of places the brass doesnt quite meet the edge of the steel in a flush manner(very minor)no strap on the bottom of the sollerets to use as a stirrup under the shoe.(i told him of this and he promptly sent extra straping and rivits to fix that)the greaves have an unusual fastening system. There are to studs on the lower back greave that fit into corressponding holes in the front greave. This opens like a pair of sissors to insert the foot then closes around the leg and is secured around the top by a strap and buckle.I would have prefered to have them hinged, as this would have been more historicaly accurate I believe. However his system works quite well I must say.The reason he did this could be because, though the greaves are well contoured the front half doesnt match perfectly around the edges of the back half.Greaves are extremly difficult to shape properly and his skills may be somewhat limited in this area. I think most Armourers have the same problem.
All in all I was very satisfied,Christian is a very skilled Armourer and a pleasure to deal with.Hes eager to please, prompt and honest. If I had it to do over again,Would I still order? HECK YES!Otto von Teichmueller
PS I plan on trying it out today at my 1st practice in 12 years LOL.Would have tried it out sooner, but my old back said ya better not otto!

That armour sounds awesome and "looks" awesome from Christian's site.
I just wanted to make one small remark; Christian's skill is probably enough to smoothly create greaves. I would guess that inconsistencies between combat armour and historical armour are due to the "combat" aspect of the project.
