So, I've a nice corinthian helm I need to line and strap. Don't want to drill any more holes than absolutely necessary, and I was doing a bit of googling and discovered this:

Not that I rely on Giz for serious product endorsements other than Apple, but it intrigued me. I can't get to the actual Vaco 12 site, but the Amplid site made use of charts and diagrams to convice me that SCIENCE! has been done and thus their product is obviously the more superior.

So -- has anyone heard of this stuff? Tried it in armor? Would my local marshallate flip out if I showed up with a beanbag in my helm?

It was more of a polite "please remove your helm" and it wasn't so much to check the lining as it was to figure out how to re-pad the thing so it sat differently.

It was one of those "If your head were to tip all the way, then slip off your gorget, while a left-handed thrust skipped up from your breastplate and Mars was in retrograde while solar activity was high on a Tuesday, you might get hit in your chin" kind of things.

I appreciate the guy's effort to keep me safe, just would be nice to be given a little credit for wanting to keep as healthy as possible myself.

I've had the same thing happen to me

the issue I see is trying to get the 'bag' to conform to the inside of the helm properly
