It doesn't sound like that man was particularly concerned with authenticity.

What's wrong with those? I think they look pretty cool.

the 1st one the eyes are wrong and the second has random horns and ears added on that dont make sence on that helm

Actually the second one is kinda modelled from real examples, but they are not Viking or Greek.

Ok you're right about the eyes on the first one, but that aside, they both look good to me. The horns and ears fit very well imo. Atleast if you look at them as fantasy helms.
My opinion on esthetics is not affected by historical accuracy.

I've never met a self proclaimed Artist that wasn't some form of bat shit crazy.

Artisans and Craftsmen however I find to be quite a different kind of crazy.
