finished these today for a 12th century re-enactment group
one was supposed to be blackened with "gun blue" [it was an OLD container]

The guy on the left has been hit too many times on the head... Looks kinda' squat.

If I could just get the spangen top, I'd be set. Although...the facemasks on these look good, not cartoonish.

Bulge is at the chin, not nose--perhaps if you're a Hapsburg. From a historical perspective, there aren't any depictions of early face-mask helms with a spangen-top that I've seen. Everything from c.1160-1240 seems to have a solid top.
