Does anyone have good quality pictures of any of the bascinets in the Musèe de l'Armee, Paris? I'm looking for good detail shots. Anybody have any technical specs on them? Height? Weight? Etc...

Maybe you can post them somewhere or email them to me or I can pay you for good copies.
Thanks,

I don't remember seeing bascinets there. I have all my pics on-line on my site, though. If they were in the back room, I won't have detailed pics because I was running out of film. I got a little camera happy in the first two rooms Image.

If you're taliking about the bubble faced great bascinets, I have a large pic of one from the Armee, and some great pics of a couple more from other museums. I can scan them and email them if that's the type you're looking for.

There are two really nice ones in that storage room that is behind the large plate glass window. You know, the room with all the stuff on wooden shelves...

I have some shots of that storage room. Can see about scanning them and posting them somewhere. Not sure what you want is in there.. They are all decent shots but nothing 'upclose' since I was outside that storage room.

Talbot,

I was there this past summer and have some pretty good digital video footage of the collection. I also have footage of the stuff behind the glass, thanks for bringing up that painful memory Vitus. (that has got to be the most evil thing the French have ever done to humanity, putting all that nice armour behind glass so you can not get good pictures of it, no I am not bitter).

I do not have a video card for my PC at this time. However, what events are you going to be at? I am planning on going to the TofC at the end of this month, but my wife is due the following week so we shall see. I can always bring the camera and then tansfer the stuff you want over to a VCR tape. Once I get the video card I will be happy to upload it.

I had forgot about "the room". They're probably still cleaning the drool off the floor! Walls full of weapons, and shelves full of armour!

One of the guys that went with me took digital video of everything, but he still hasn't sent me a copy!

I'll be at TOC. If you could get them to on video it would be cool.

Fo anyone elso out there. I still will need good shots and technical data.

They have about 7 bascinets there. Mostly with pig faces.
