Is there an armour in or near Brooklyen Center, MN?

I was wondering becuse im just getting started on making armour and was wondering if there was some one in the area that could help me or train me

Are you going to the SCA practices at Bracken Park in Mpls on Sunday's? I've moved out of the area, but I know of 2 good people that are making armour there. Matthew Smallwood, and Durius. Email me and I will try to get you in touch with them.

Hello Cad,I recently met Matthew Smallwood at our Lupercalia event.I got the pleasure of examining some of his work,a very nice basinet with a flip up visor and stainless steel aventail.

http://198.144.2.125/His email addy is there too. I am one of his apprentices, and he is usually more than happy to teach you as long as you're willing to put in the time to make armour. (which is A LOT) He's close by too, Anoka, I live in Maple Grove and it takes me less than 1/2 hour to get there.

I used to go to his house all the time just to learn. He is the beast guy to learn how to make authentic armour in MN. I would still be going there, but I moved to Saskbitch hehe

You may want to check out Chris Poor and Craig Johnson down at Arms & Armor. Chris is without a doubt one of the best armourers around, that is when he gets time to do it. Sword making does take precedent, but they also do do armor from time to time.
If mail is your thing, Erik Schmid is located in St.Cloud. I am unsure whether he is will to do any teaching though.

Arms & Armor is in the phone book. They're located in NE(?) Minneapolis, around about Stinson Blvd and I-35W.
It's a genuine commercial shop in a genuine commercial building in a genuine commercial district.
You can also find them out at the MN Renaissance Festival from mid-August through September. They're down sort of near the shipwreck (Legend Stage).

You are welcome to train in armouring at the Knight's Armoury in Anoka, MN. Training is free, and all your projects cost only the cost of materials and consumables (sanding pads, etc.). All you gotta do is show and be willing to work.
