I had this on classifieds but you guys on design and construction might not have seen it yet.
I ran the kit again but had to put one together as a sanity check.

Mmm. Ermine-spot breaths. Me likey. Get enough of that in a visor and somebody's going to think he's fighting the Duke of Brittany.
Or latin-crosslets-pommé, with a bit different saw work.

I was going to cut out crosses but had spent enough time on this.
The white is paper behind the holes to make them show up better.
Here is a pic with out the white paper inside the faceplate.

Looks great!
But Hal, you know that our helms won't look anything like that. You are the expert and it shows. Mine might look something like that though, especially after two test projects.

That looks real good, Hal. I know when I finally put hand to hammer, it won't look anything like that beyond a vague outline.

Hal, got a picture of the back?

Those 4 rivets in back, splice the head band together after you trim to your head size.
The 2 upper rivets use the front to back band.
The 2 lower rivets use the center back slat.

Did you see the help cartoons?
Does that help?

It does indeed -- did you weld your band, is it just butted together?

Generally speaking... butted together with 4 rivets and their adjoining pieces is sufficient.
A little hammer work over the ball stake can smooth everything right out.
One can make a temporary working splice during assembly, using #10 screws and nuts with left over brow band material.
Yes, I welded my brow band on this kit test for expediency, as I have Miller MIG welder sitting in one corner of my shop. I could have welded the entire helm but that would not show the construction using the supplied rivets.
Feel free to ask for more pics, or if I can be of further help on the construction of the helm kit.
