I am looking at building my own 'stealth' finger gaunts and was wondering what would be the lightest (still safe/legal) material to use that would not need to be heat treated?
Titanium. Spring Steel, or...?

Re: Finger Gaunt Question - SCA
Titanium is a bear to work with. I know it can be done but I imagine dishing out small pieces like that would be the opposite of a good time.
Re: Finger Gaunt Question - SCA
aluminum is lighter than titanium and easier to work.
titanium os pretty tough especially without experience.
you can make simple shapes but the compound ones require heat and machines.
I sell rough cut fully shaped 301 stainless fingers kits that you grind and finish yourself.
makes making finger gauntlets simple.
you can find more information pictures and video on this page:

Re: Finger Gaunt Question - SCA
Regarding non-heat treated materials, remember that working them requires greater force than you want them to withstand.
